SECTOR DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Position level: ACT MEA Award level 6.1; $83,584 pa (pro rata) plus 9.5% superannuation and generous salary packaging 

Position title: Sector Development Officer 

Hours: 4 days/26-30 hours per week

 

MHCC ACT is seeking a person with the depth of experience, qualifications and character for a challenging work program in a sector which has undergone massive transformation in the past few years.

 

MHCC ACT is the peak body for community based mental health service providers. This sector covers the range of non-government organisations (NGO) that offer recovery, early intervention, prevention, NDIS, health promotion and community support services for people with a mental illness and psychosocial disability. Our aim is to foster the capacity of these organisations to support people to live a meaningful and dignified life.

 

As part of a small team, and under the leadership of the Policy and Sector Development Manager, this position is responsible for the sector development area of MHCC ACT’s work program. You will engage in a range of activities aimed at sustaining and strengthening NGO mental health services in the ACT. You will work with stakeholders to embed a culture of continuous quality improvement in these services and to develop targeted strategies to address sector and workforce development issues. You will represent the organisation on committees and working groups.

OFFICE MANAGER

Position level: ACT MEA Award level 4/5; $68,132 - $76,767 plus 9.5% superannuation and generous salary packaging 

Position title: Office Manager 

Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week (negotiable)

MHCC ACT is looking for an experienced Office Manager to support a busy office dedicated to creating social change.

 

MHCC ACT is the peak body for community based mental health service providers. This sector covers the range of non-government organisations (NGO) that offer recovery, early intervention, prevention, NDIS, health promotion and community support services for people with a mental illness and psychosocial disability. Our aim is to foster the capacity of these organisations to support people to live a meaningful and dignified life.

 

Reporting to the Executive Officer, this role is critical to supporting the day-to-day operations of the organisation. The role comes with responsibilities across a range of business functions, including administration, bookkeeping, executive support, HR support, events, and membership management.

The position requires excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and the ability to exercise effective judgement to prioritise tasks.

The ideal candidate

You will be experienced Office Manager or Office Administrator with proven success in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organisational skills, a strong work ethic, and a flexible and professional approach to work. 

The right candidate will be a highly dependable ‘people person’, able to adapt to a varied workload and manage competing priorities with limited supervision. You will have good interpersonal skills and be comfortable liaising with a variety of stakeholder groups in a busy membership-based organisation.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent written communications abilities and a proficiency in handling the day-to-day financial functions of an organisation.
