About the Event

At SMHR 2021 we are looking to expand on the innovations, special panel discussions and interactive ‘research pitch’ events that were showcased at SMHR 2019 and SMHR 2020 Virtual Conference. By breaking down silos, we aim to gain new insights from outside our established paradigms and disciplines to develop innovative ways to address the big issues we are facing in mental health.

This year, we look forward to extending SMHR’s work of bringing together people and organisations from all over Australia and New Zealand who share the common goal of improving the lives of people living with and at risk of mental illness. In addition to our membership, we warmly welcome researchers from the broader health and medical sciences, as we recognise the interplay between physical and mental health.

In 2021 the SMHR Conference will feature an exciting and comprehensive program that includes keynote and plenary speakers at the forefront of science and innovation in mental health research. The Conference will also showcase upcoming leaders in mental health, with a range of presentations, Conference symposia, and a dynamic early career program.
