ACT Mental Health Sector Update - 19 September 2019

In this edition:

... we kick off with encouragement to all workers to have a ‘Priori-Tea’ at their workplace during Mental Health Month (October!) to build conversations and connections around mental health.  We have a promotion for ‘Consumer and Carer Engagement – a Practical Guide’, the Final Report on feasibility of setting up a professional body for the Peer workforce and the latest data on psychosocial disability in the NDIS, We have NDIS information in 14 languages, how mental health and wellbeing pays an economic dividend, mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients, a RECORD number of people are being pushed off the Disability Support Pension, news of an informal ACT group that takes an interest in mental health issues, grants available to help support the mental health of younger military veterans and Question, Persuade, Refer – a suicide prevention intervention. We also have our ‘Spotlight on our Member Organisations’, which in this edition highlights CatholicCare Canberra and Goulburn, Upcoming Events (including quite a lot of training) and we even have one job advertised, right at the end.  Hope you find it useful!
