ACT Mental Health Sector Update - 3 October 2019

In this edition:

Mental Health Month … suddenly, it’s here!  As you may know, we at the Mental Health Community Coalition of the ACT have carriage of Mental Health Month in the ACT, and there are a LOT of things happening.  We’ve already had the Launch and Comedy Night at the Tradies club in Dickson on Monday evening, but coming up we have organised the centrepiece of the month, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Expo.  We had over 3,000 people last year, and this year may be bigger.  There will be 80 stalls with info on mental health services in the ACT.  It’s at Garema Place, 11am-2pm, Thursday 10 October.   We have also organised an important Peer Work Panel Event, Midday-2.30pm on Tuesday 22 October.  We are encouraging organisations, businesses, any workplaces at all really, to hold a ‘Wellbeing Priori-Tea’.  This aims to bring people together to have a chat over a cuppa during Mental Health Month.  It can be a morning tea, an afternoon tea or even a high tea!  To find out more and to receive the ‘Wellbeing Priori-Tea’ pack to help you organise it, click the link just above. To hear about more than 40 other Mental Health Month events all over Canberra, download the Mental Health Month Calendar! Have a GREAT Mental Health Month, but not until you’ve at least scanned through the rest of this ACT Mental Health Sector Update!
