COVID-19 Update - ACT Mental Health Sector - 26 March 2020

MHCC ACT, as your peak body, is working with government, other peaks and stakeholders to support the community sector in the face of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. We will be updating you on developments at least once a week for the foreseeable future. Also please let us know what your issues are and if you have suggestions of things that we might usefully be doing as your peak body. Today we have participated in online forums hosted by Mental Health Australia with Gerry Naughtin, NDIA; ACT Health Services update on preparations; and a meeting between the NGO Leadership Group and ACT Health. We are also hosting weekly Zoom meetings with our member organisation leadership group. At the bottom of the newsletter is a section with links to reliable sources of information, tools, checklists and other resources. We will continually update this as we come across new sources.  MHCC ACT is hoping to be able to bring you more clarity around how you know if your organisation is, and what it means to be, classified an essential service. There is a lot of work being done around this - its quite a complex question to answer. We are also closely monitoring the PPE supply issue. We urge you all to take good care and maintain physical distancing in any interaction with other people.
